1. 6 year old boys are VERY impatient.
2. 6 year old boys are VERY determined.
3. Never underestimate the power of that child to take matter into his own hands if you won't do what he asks immediately. In the time you can walk to the garage to locate large outdoor garbage bags he can convince his brother to "cook" his clay dragonfly in the microwave for 3 minutes JUST like Ms. Renee said (actually Ms. Renee said the oven... but those are minor details... HA!).
4. Never put clay in a microwave!
5. Clay in a microwave causes the ENTIRE kitchen to billow with toxic white smoke that will bring a mom to her knees after only running in to turn off the microwave and dash out the door.
6. It will take about 15 minutes for her to breath again and she will still have a sore throat and lungs the next day.
7. If you turn off the microwave in time... the microwave will still work.
8. Your house will smell for a very long time (until at least until 2020).
9. The fire dept will insist on coming even if you tell them there is NO FIRE... you just want to know if the smoke is okay. They will laugh at you after checking your oxygen levels.
9. That child will cry over his very burnt dragonfly for a long time.

Oh my gosh Kara. :0 I would have freaked out girl. Those 6 yr old boys are somethin' aren't they. haha
All I can say - glad it happened at your house and not mine! If you just cook it in the oven and do it for about 3-4 hours, it only gets a little black on the bottom! I forgot about it until about 7:30 last night (I put it in around 3:00). Thanks for my laugh today - hope ya'll are breathing OK now!
